ABOUT US

QUALITY CHILDCARE AND EARLY YEARS EDUCATION AT TWIN GABLES DAY NURSERY

Our highly qualified, experienced and amazing Twin Gables staff provide our high adult to child ratios, ensuring a warm, responsive and caring relationship between our staff and our children. We provide an age appropriate curriculum supported by stimulating resources within a safe and language rich environment. Our children have the opportunity to play both in and outdoors with a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities that enable them to become active and creative learners.

We support all children who attend Twin Gables to reach their maximum potential and by teaching good manners and using positive role models, we encourage our children to value and respect others whilst embracing diversity.

Regular visitors to the nursery, include the Fire Service, Police, Dental Practitioners and the Library Service, we also take the children on outings within the local community to develop their curiosity about the world.

National Day Nurseries Association       The Bristol Standard Birth to Five

We have been awarded the Bristol Standards Quality Assurance Scheme for meeting specific principles and standards for quality childcare and education. We are also a member of the National Day Nurseries Association whose mission aims to enhance the development and education of children in their early years.

TWIN GABLES PARENT PARTNERSHIP

We also like to work closely with our parents and carers to get to know your child. Throughout the year, parents are invited to attend parent’s afternoons to discuss their child’s development, progress and achievements with their child’s key person. Parents are very welcome to come into the nursery to join in with activities or to come in and ‘share a book’.

MEAL PLANS & DIET REQUIREMENTS

Mealtimes are catered for by our nursery cook on-site using fresh produce to create nutritious and varied meals.  Menus are displayed on the notice board in the hall and run on a 4 weekly basis. Our policy is to make every meal time an enjoyable social occasion where good table manners are encouraged.

Special dietary needs can be catered for. Parents are encouraged to discuss any special requirements their child may have such as allergies and intolerances to food groups, vegetarian diet and foods forbidden by religious belief.

Meal and snack times at Twin Gables are seen as a sociable learning opportunity for trying different foods and talking with friends. An adult will sit with the children and support them according to their age and stage of development. Milk or water is offered to the children throughout the day and a healthy mid-morning snack of fruit, rice cakes, bread sticks and biscuits is available.
We serve a variety of healthy lunchtime meals including casseroles, fish dishes, curries, pasta bakes and vegetarian options. All meals are served with a selection of fresh seasonal vegetables. The children are also offered deserts such as fruit crumbles, fresh fruit salads, cheesecakes and mousse. Teatime menus include freshly cut sandwiches, cheese and biscuits, sausage rolls, beans, spaghetti or ravioli on toast, crudités, fresh fruit and freshly baked cakes made by the children.
