Up to 15 hours of early education over 38 weeks of the year for children aged 9 months to 4 years old.

Up to 30 hours of early education over 38 weeks of the year for 3 to 4 year olds. From September 2025, this will extend to include children aged 9 months to 4 years old.

Who is Eligible? Families where both parents (or a single parent) are working and earning the equivalent of 16 hours a week at minimum wage.​

This funding provides early access to high-quality care, helping children get the best start in life.

​15 Hours Childcare for All Families

Children aged 3-4 years old can access 15 hours of early education per week for 38 weeks, totalling 570 hours annually.

All families are entitled to 15 hours of early years education starting on 1st January, 1st April, or 1st September following their child's 3rd birthday.

15 Hours Childcare for Families Receiving Some Additional Forms of Government Support

Children aged 2 years are eligible for 15 hours of early education per week for 38 weeks, totalling up to 570 hours per year.

To be able to take up 15 hours of early education for your two-year-old you must meet the eligibility criteria. Please visit GOV.UK for further information.

Eligibility begins on 1st January, 1st April, or 1st September following your child’s 2nd birthday.

TAX-FREE CHILDCARE
Tax-Free Childcare Government Scheme

A government scheme to help working parents save on childcare costs. For every £8 you pay, the government adds £2, up to £500 every 3 months per child (or £1,000 for children with disabilities).
